Good Friends Raises More Than $650,000 at 2022 Gather & Give Event

Women-Led Nonprofit Organization Celebrates its Impact at 36th annual luncheon

Charlotte, N.C. December 19, 2022 – Today, Good Friends Charlotte, the impactful women’s nonprofit organization, celebrates another successful year with more than $650,000 of funds raised at this year’s “Gather & Give” event held Thursday, December 15, at the Charlotte Convention Center

“We could not be more thrilled to have once again raised well over a half a million dollars at this years ‘Gather & Give’ luncheon, allowing us to help more of our neighbors in need and support their journey towards financial and personal growth,” said Good Friends President, Beverly Lassiter. “This yearly luncheon is such a special event because we raise significant funds for life-saving grants that get distributed across our 80+ community partners to address the growing needs of Charlotte.”

This year, the theme was “Together We Impact,” placing a focus on the 1,700 members, donors and partners in attendance and their contributions that will go towards helping thousands of Charlotte families in 2023. Starting the event with an invocation from Rev. Michelle Thomas-Bush, Good Friends 2022 “Gather & Give” Luncheon Chair Mary Tinkey welcomed guests and introduced partner speakers from Safe Alliance and Pineville Neighbors Place to share stories of hope and impact Good Friends has on individuals in their time of need. Attendees also enjoyed festive music by the Myers Park High School Jazz Band led by Whit Blount.

“Being a Good Friends member means being a part of something bigger than myself. It means being a part of a group of women who are passionate about helping our neighbors in the community,” said Audrey Truman, Senior Regional Private Wealth Investment Manager at Wells Fargo and member of Good Friends Charlotte. “Wells Fargo is also proud to share that passion for this incredible organization as presenting sponsor again this year."
